Icon, Willie Nelson is not only one of country music's greatest heroes, but he is also one of its most famous outlaws.   Jim Marshall was there at Willie Nelson's Dripping Springs Reunion in 1973, when Willie along with Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson helped forge the birth of "Outlaw Country".  "Willie played a three-day country festival outside of town, (the Dripping Springs Reunion), that would grow into his Fourth of July Picnics.  Then he moved to Austin and started building an audience that didn’t look like or care about any Nashville ideal.  By the time the scene started to wind down, in 1976, both Willie and Austin were known worldwide." -Texas Monthly
